What Makes Vitassium Different

Unlike most electrolyte options, Vitassium was created for you.

Our products are specifically and exclusively meant to help manage symptoms of chronic illnesses such as POTS, OH, vasovagal syncope, and others.

You can find dozens of electrolyte products, but they’re mostly made for athletes. They can be full of unhelpful stuff like sugar, food coloring, preservatives – or ingredients that can be harmful if taken in high quantities, such as Vitamins B and E. As an example, if you consumed 4,000 mg of sodium from the average sports drink, you would be adding 525 g of sugar (or 2,100 calories) to your diet – check it out, we did the math!

Instead of repurposing a formula meant for someone else, we set out to create the best options for people living with chronic illnesses, using input from providers, caregivers, and – most importantly – patients.

It's why Vitassium has just what you need: a boost of sodium to help manage symptoms, plus a little bit of potassium to help with absorption. It’s also why hundreds of doctors recommend Vitassium as one of the best electrolytes for POTS and other chronic illnesses.

And last, it’s why we give back to the chronic illness community by:

From the products we create to the people and organizations with whom we partner, we advocate for a world in which anyone with a chronic illness feels seen, respected, and supported through their journey.

How Vitassium Works

Conditions like POTS or OH are types of dysautonomia, which is a breakdown of the systems that control “automatic functions” like heartbeat and digestion. These conditions may occur on their own or as the result of conditions like Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Myalgic Encephalomyelitis / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Sjögren's, and Long COVID, among others.

If you’ve been diagnosed with any of these conditions, your healthcare provider might have told you to "eat more salt and drink more water.”

Increasing sodium and water intake can help counteract low blood pressure, low blood volume, and lead to an overall improvement in distribution of blood throughout the body. This can reduce common symptoms of lightheadedness and fatigue.

Here's an in-depth look the science, if you're curious. (Vitassium is based on more than a dozen peer-reviewed papers.)

How much salt? Well, that’s up to you and your healthcare provider. A common recommendation is 4,000 mg of sodium per day, but some people may benefit from up to 10,000 mg. Talk to your healthcare provider about what’s best for you.
